ARTIST STATEMENT

Painting is such an adventure!  Creating a vibrant piece of art is a challenging puzzle that I am always eager to solve.  My art is reflective of the natural world around me - whether I am in the desert or the mountains.  I see my subject matter at a very intimate level and will intensify or twist colors to convey a mood or a personality.  My art is colorful, but I work each painting with a unique and limited palette.  Color combinations are endless and the possibilities are exciting.  I work in acrylic and watercolor because I love the bright colors and the fast energy needed to stay ahead of the drying time.

I love the sensual feeling of applying paint to a canvas.  The interplay of colors evolve as I work and beauty begins to emerge.  My curiosity knows no bounds - I am constantly asking questions...what colors give each other energy, what colors quiet each other down...what life is in the shadows.  I love looking at nature - what colors does Mother Nature pull together in her sunsets, her fields of flowers?  Color is exciting, pure and simple. 

My goal is to bring warm feelings and happiness to you! I hope you “spark” with my paintings - that they hit an emotional spot in your heart and mind.  My pricing is reasonable and affordable, and my subjects understandable.
